Microphlebectomy is a standard treatment performed by a wide range of physicians to treat varicose veins. The challenge in treating varicose veins is not the ability to perform microphlebectomy, but to adequately diagnose the cause of the damaged veins prior to any treatments. The use of microphlebectomy in treating varicose veins caused by reflux disease is likely to produce inferior results and recurrent varicose veins in the future.
